How to Qualify Builders

It is impossible to predict how good your new Business Partner is going to be and there are many things to look for and things to do to get as much information as you can from the beginning to help you know where to place them on your team.

Here are certain attributes that are common in successful dōTERRA Business Advocates.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset

  • Passionate about Health

  • Hungry for money and/or success and/or purpose and fulfilment

  • Driven

  • Strong Network and Influential

The above are guidelines for the things I look for in a new business partner.
I actually think one of the most important things you want is Someone you really like! You will be working closely with this person for the rest of your dōTERRA career so it is really important that you set your intentions from the beginning of the type of people you are looking to attract for your front line.
A supportive partner is also helpful!

Test for Commitment

Once you have found a potential Business Partner, it is a good idea to test how committed and capable they are before you finalise your placement of them.

Here are some ways you can do this from the beginning.

  • Get them to write a list of Names

  • Read Part of a book

  • Read the build guide

  • Watch these videos

  • Chat at a certain time

  • Start working through the website and/or 90-day plan

  • Basically, anything you can hold them accountable for!

You also want to commit them to the following.

  • An LRP of 150pv a month

  • At least 15 hours a week

  • Completing the website training

  • 90 days oil program

  • Attending the two business events in the UK

  • Attending the next European Convention

Test Capability

The above tests how committed they are.  It is a little harder to test how Capable they are.  One way is to see how easily they can set up their own classes and fill them.  Another way is to see if they can enrol someone without any training.

Enrol your new Business Partner as a Customer

I suggest you enrol your new Business Partner as a Customer and place them in a position where you think they should go. Do not have them upgrade to and Advocate until you are clear on where they should be placed in your team. This way, you will have more time to experience them so you can place them in a position that is best for you and for them.  As soon as they upgrade to an Advocate, you then have until the 10th of the following month to place them. Once they have been placed, you cannot move them again so do not rush this part!
