The Purpose and Summary of a Getting Started Consultation

Purpose

For the new Enrollee:

  • Providing support and knowledge about the oils so that they are confident to use them and share them with others

  • Teach and Empower them with knowledge on how to look up ailments using the available resources

  • Teach them how to use their account and how to place an order

  • Teach them the most cost effective way to purchase their products through the Loyalty Rewards Program

  • Educate them on the other products dōTERRA do

  • They experience a personalised approach to their requirements for the oils. 

For you as the Wellness Advocate:

  • To help your new enrollee be an independent oils user for life not just a one off purchase.

  • Account Management of your business, creating long-standing customers to help you build residual volume

  • Creating rapport with your dōTERRA user

  • To deduce as far as possible whether they are a User, Sharer or Builder so you can place them accurately in your team

  • It is an opportunity to ask them to host a class

Summary of a Consultation

The Wellness Consultation is best carried out in person. However, you can also do them online via Skype or even over the telephone if this is the only method available. It is important to set aside an hour for this as you do not want you or your enrolee to be in a hurry as you want to make sure all of the important things are covered.

Sections covered in the Wellness Consultation:

  • Check on use of products and resources

  • Health and Safety

  • Oil Application review

  • Address specific health conditions

  • Use Live Guide to focus on their needs and to introduce some wellness lifestyle products and create wish list

  • Introduce and explain LRP

  • Give Customer Services number

  • Show them how to use their back office

  • Invite them to Facebook pages and Future events

  • offer a hosted class and talk about the business opportunity

  • Book next Chat

If possible, send them the link to the ‘Live Guide’ and ask them to have a look through so you know where you can focus the consultation.

Before you begin the Consultation……… check…….

Have they used their products and do they have a book?

After you have chatted a little with your new enrollee and checked they have received their products. You will want to ask them if they have started using them yet and if they have, find out what experiences they have had.

Ask them if they have purchased either the Advanced Oil Magic, Modern Essentials book, The Essential Life Book or the Modern Essentials App. If they haven’t, strongly suggest they get one of these to help them use their oils with confidence.

The Getting Started Consultation

dōTERRA has an average retention rate of 64% compared to the national average of 13%.  A large part of this is due to the wellness consultation or Lifestyle Overview. It is during this 1:1 consultation where the new enrollee is able to see what dōTERRA has to offer as a life- long product rather than a one time purchase. This process along with continued education of the products mean customers become fully educated and understand why they need to use dōTERRA’s products. Although this is one of the most time consuming activities in dōTERRA, it is one of the most important in helping to create a successful residual income and solid business. The Wellness Consultation is where you get to go into further detail with people individually after a class and teach them about the Loyalty Rewards Programme (LRP).

One way of doing the Getting Started Consultation is to record videos of you giving the generic parts which you can then send to your new enrolee. You can then offer a 15 – 20-minute consultation to discuss their personal needs.  This saves a lot of time and helps you to build your business more quickly. I suggest you carry out at least ten full Getting started consultations first before doing this so you really learn and understand the different parts of a consultation.

Skills to master

Understand and appreciate the purpose and importance of a Wellness Consultation. Teach a successful wellness consultation which covers the following:

  • Teach how to access the back office and set up their account

  • Can show how to process a standard order

  • Can show how to create an LRP

  • Can confidently teach LRP and the benefits
